Blast Theory
Blast Theory is one of the leading artists' groups in Britain making interactive performances, installations, video and mixed reality projects. Combining rigorous research and development with leading edge technologies, their practice ranges across media and disciplines, taking risks and encouraging critical debate.

Based in London since 1991, the group has a creative team of three. They have shown work in galleries, theatres, cinemas, universities and found spaces throughout Europe and beyond.

Mixed Reality Lab
The Mixed Reality Laboratory (MRL) is an interdisciplinary research initiative at the University of Nottingham. The MRL brings together leading researchers from the Schools of Computer Science, Engineering and Psychology to research mixed reality - new technologies that merge the physical and digital worlds, focusing on playful, artistic and educational applications.

Equator
Equator is a six-year Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration (IRC) supported by EPSRC that focuses on the integration of physical and digital interaction. It brings together researchers from eight different institutions and a variety of disciplines to address the technical, social and design issues in the development of new inter-relationships between the physical and digital.

Experience projects engage user communities to develop new applications that enhance the quality of everyday life. Research challenges explore new classes of device that link the physical and the digital, develop underlying software architectures, and establish new design and evaluation methods that draw together approaches from social science, cognitive science and art and design.
